Florida has always been known world wide for both it's great saltwater and freshwater fishing. At the time of year when the fish are in there spawning mode the fishing is fast and furious. That's why we have selected the spring months of April and May to go after Redfish and Largemouth Bass!

The Redfish frequent the flats off the Gulf Coast and sight fishing is the best way to catch them. Whether you are casting gold Johnson's Minnows or a fly, Redfish are a schooling fish so once you see them tailing in the shallow water you have to be careful not to spook them. The limit is only one fish per day per angler and it must be between 18 and 27 inches, which just one fish you can bet you'll savour every mouthful at dinner in the evening. Redfish are great fighters and the action is nonstop!

Florida 's Largemouth Bass are the biggest in the country and the grandfather to all west coast monsters. When you can stick your fist into the mouth of one of these Bass you know that you got a big one, at least 10 lbs. The best way to catch these fish is slow trolling live golden shiners but a more active way is to flip or pitch to them in heavy cover. Strong tackle is required to pull them out of the weeds and brush piles but anyone of them could be a trophy!
