Fly Fishing for Atlantic Salmon

The fishing season runs from mid-June to mid-September. Fly fishing is the only type permitted. You can fish either by wading or from an canoe with a guide for two fishermen, catch and release only for Atlantic Salmon. Members and guests can fly fish for our plentiful wild brook trout as well.

Moisie-Eau Dorée Salmon Outfitting Camp has exclusive Atlantic Salmon fishing rights for 21 kilometers along the imposing Moisie River, about 60 kilometers north of Sept-Îles. It is located on an island upstream from the famous Cran Serré Falls which the salmon easily navigate.

The largest and stongest enter our section when the river is the highest and the current strongest in mid-June. The rest wait for the waters to lower and arrive late July and early August. From mid-August through mid-September the salmon, that had pasted through our section earlier, return to their spawning grounds located the entire length of our section of private water and are fishable till the close of the fishing season.

The Moisie River is one of the most famous and important Atlantic Salmon rivers in all of North America. Offering outstanding fly fishing opportunties, with panoramic views of mountains and valleys, the Moisie is still a very wild and challenging river.
