Our story begins as most fairy tales do with “Once Upon a Time” or "A Long, Long Time Ago"... Nefarious 'Genesee Valley Canal Boatmen' invaded a quiet river side village called Houghton, on the mystic banks of the Genesee River, to the chagrin of the local inhabitants.
These boatmen, for shear pleasure and devious capital gains, began galloping their horses down Main Street wagering on who was the fastest. The racing changed Houghton's main thoroughfare to a thoroughbred race track called 'Jockey Street'.
For over 100 years after their demise, their spirits and those of their nostril flaring steeds cruised the strip, that is until recently!
Swashbuckling Jockeys of a new breed, hard slinging and flinging men and women ride the wind these days, not on the backs of 1000s of pounds of horse flesh, our present day jockeys use mere 170 gram highly sophisticated plastic discs, coining the name 'Disc Jockeys'.
Our Pro Shop is located on this very famous or infamous (still up for debate) Jockey Street and our Pro Staff, the best of the new breed, compete not on the street (that could be dangerous) but rather on two exceptional disc golf courses built on haloed grounds surrounding the strip... the “Field of Dreams” and "Houghton Woods".
